Setup Social Pug Easy Social Share Buttons Plugin
Step 1. Install and Activate Plugin
In the first steps, installing “Social Pug – Easy Social Share Buttons” can be done either by searching for “Social Pug – Easy Social Share Buttons” via the “Plugins > Add New” screen in your WordPress dashboard as shown below.
Else you can use the following steps for installing the “Social Pug – Easy Social Share Buttons Plugin” in your WordPress site,
- Download the plugin.
- Upload the ZIP file through WordPress dashboard > Plugins > Add New > Upload screen in your WordPress dashboard
- Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress
Once the plugin is activated you can configure the plugin. You will see a new menu, Social Pug button being added to the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard.
Step 2. Social Pug Plugin Settings
After installing the plugin, go to Dashboard > Social Pug. You will be presented with Share Tools options as shown below,
As shown above, there are four main options to setup social sharing buttons using this plugin. You can enable Floating Sidebar and Inline Content by clicking the toggle button which is shows as INACTIVE now. Mobile Sticky and Pop-Up are pro version features. Once you activate any sharing tool, you can click settings icon to go to settings of each tool.
Floating Sidebar Settings
Once you have activated Floating Sidebar, optionally you can explore the settings by going to WordPress Dashboard > Social Pug > Floating Sidebar. In the Floating Sidebar Settings page, click select networks to choose social networks. Then, you can choose buttons shape, buttons position, buttons spacing, share counts and so on.
The Post Type Display Setting helps you with the social media buttons to be displayed only in the post/page OR in both. After setting up all the changes using the Save Changes tab you can save your settings to move further.
Content Sharing Settings
You can optionally go to Content Sharing Settings page by going to WordPress Dashboard > Social Pug > Content. Content Sharing Settings are similar to Floating Sidebar Settings. The difference is the number of columns options. It provides how many columns you want to have to display the social media buttons in the post/page of your site. Click save changes after making changes.
The last option is Settings. It provides the miscellaneous option with the Disable Open Graph Meta Tags. It enables any web page to become rich object in a social graph.
